Poker Tournaments
Online poker tournaments are excellent ways to test your poker skill in a scheduled poker competition. In cash or ring games, the action continues indefinitely at the same blinds, with players buying in and out as they please. Poker tournaments make use of increasing blinds at set intervals to maximise competition and to eliminate players in the endeavour to crown the last remaining player as the champion.
There are a wide variety of tournament types each with different structures and varying sets of rules. You can choose which tournament type suits you and your bankroll best. To check out the full range of tournament options on offer at PDC Poker, click the links below.

Tournament Play
Several hours before a tournament is scheduled to start, players are able to register to play. When the tournament starts, all registered players will take their seats at the tables. Players are allocated starting chip stacks and blinds will start at the lowest level. If the tournament does not allow rebuys, you will be eliminated after all your chips are gone. If the tournament is a listed rebuy tournament, you will be given the option to rebuy after having lost all your chips.
Depending on the number of players eliminated at a table, players may be shuffled around to different tables during play. This is to ensure all tables have an equal amount of players and a similar average chip stack.
Depending on the payout structure and the number of entrants in the tournament, a certain amount of players will eventually make it 'in the money', which essentially means they will have made it far enough in the tournament to receive a cash payout.
For example, a tournament that has a $10 entry and 400 players will have a prize pool of $4000. This isn't awarded to the winner alone, but rather it is distributed amongst those last few players according to their placing.
