Shootout Tournaments
Shootout Tournaments
In a traditional poker tournament, tables are balanced and remain predominantly full for most of the tournament. Over the duration players are moved around and tables are split to ensure all tables are as full as possible.
A new introduction here at PDC Poker, is our shootout tournaments. These tournaments feature a different structure and play style. They consist of several rounds of single tabled tournaments with winners from each individual table progressing on to the next round.
For example a tournament may have 100 entrants. After playing for a period the top 3 from each of the 10 tables are taken through to the next round, and then the top 3 from each of those tables are again progressed through to the final table.
Shootouts are exciting events with a fixed structure and several different rounds. It takes a fair amount of skill to make it through the rounds, as the playing style is quite different from that of other games.
